An intense but extremely valuable 8 hours spent making decisions and working towards getting our venture to profitability! 🚀

An engaging board game experience 🎲 that takes you through the basics of running a start-up. Allocating budgets between business functions, bidding on marketing experiments, accumulating and getting ruined by technical dept (as was our team's case), calculating P&L, and so much more!

    Senior Product Designer at Intercom
That was bloody excited! We experimented, made mistakes, ran into obstacles, hired teams, planed marketing & product strategy and, finally, we did it – we became profitable and reached an IPO stage 🎉

As a product designer, I can say that this experience is a top-value to understand the business and stakeholders, how to make decisions and take responsibility, and it definitely boosted my skills.

It was truly intense, with over 8 hours of playing, learning, making mistakes, fixing them, running experiments, increasing metrics, calculating PnL, reducing costs, and ultimately becoming profitable! 🤑

Definitely one of the best games I've ever played, and I highly recommend it to anyone involved in designing and launching products.

Unitcraft was a fantastic simulation - a team game where you get unique insights in how the modern startup world works. Would love to see more scenarios of the same game, I can see it turning it into a series

  • Mariia Ominina
    Lead Product Designer at Beetl

Engaging and insightful, the game provided us with valuable insights into the subtleties of business operations, offering a firsthand experience of the challenges faced by startup founders. It was not just a lesson in business; it was an exploration of our capabilities and perspectives 🚀

You've got a company simulator with starting capital and a few clients. There are seven rounds where you decide on resource investments. This can lead to profitable traffic, improved metrics, and better investment terms. We excelled in optimising paid channels, attracting cheap traffic, but overlooked retention and rising COGS. Competitors with better products outperformed us and reinvested in marketing. A fantastic experience! Highly recommend! ❤️❤️❤️

I guess you always have room to learn something new! We spend whole day to get our startup profitable by learning from our previous mistakes. It was fun and challenging even on paper!

I participated in my first business simulation game with Unitcraft in London, where two groups competed to grow their start-ups to IPO. We tackled challenges involving key business decisions, resource limitations, and detailed financial analysis, all in one day. Through several rounds, we improved our strategies, learning from mistakes on our way to IPO.

The simulation, which lasted all day, went flawlessly.. Four teams adeptly transformed an eCommerce venture from its basic inception and challenging financials to a robust, IPO-ready status. Encompassing unit economics, marketing, strategy, competency enhancement, fundraising, loans, and P&L calculations, the exercise was all-encompassing. The calibre of the team composition was outstanding, making it an ideal experience for companies wishing to advance their product managers' and executives' expertise in product thinking and prioritisation.
WHY NOVICES SHOULDN'T BE AFRAID OF UNITCRAFT
Everything takes place in a friendly atmosphere, and there's no need to prepare separately. The simulator's mechanics are explained during the training phase.
It's a standard situation when a junior joins a team with an experienced manager. There will be an opportunity to learn, and perhaps even secure a job in the future.
